Hello, we are Rob and Cathy a husband and wife team who retired from corporate America a few years ago. Now we live on a tight budget without sacrificing great design.
I guess I have the painting gene. It seems that people rarely are apathetic or neutral: they love painting or they hate it! Apparently this gene was passed down to me from my mother. My father claimed that each year their house got slightly smaller as she continually laid yet another color on the walls. Though I love to paint walls, currently furniture captures most of my attention.
After retiring, we both went to work (I know, we are supposed to relax) for a construction company; I started working as the cabinetmaker's helper. There, I learned tons from someone I consider to be a master. This augmented my knowledge, but I am always learning.
Rob is the fixer and the muscle-boy, we move a lot of big pieces! I do the finishing.
